I love it when you meet a couple and you click – you just get each other’s vibe and vision.
We felt this way about Schalk and Juan-Claude who married in February (the month of love) last year. It’s nearly their 1st anniversary.
We had so much fun putting their flowers together and combining lots of foraged elements like wild grasses, ripening fruit, vines with berries as well as a lot of seasonal fruit and vegetables like plums and beetroots – all in deep, moody tones combined with golds, orange and ochres.
One would expect a February wedding to be hot – dry and hot. Well we got some unseasonal rain on their wedding day, which they chose to interpret as a blessing for their marriage – they also decided to continue with the ceremony in the garden, despite the drizzle that persistently fell.
And looking at their faces – it did not dampen their spirits at all.
